Master of The Universe, may it be Your Will before You, merciful and compassionate G-D, that I will merit to guard my mouth and tongue from Lashon HaRa and gossip and from accepting such [types of forbidden speech] on this day and every day. [In addition], I shall be careful to refrain from speaking [that which is forbidden] against an individual person, and how much more so I shall refrain from speaking [Lashon HaRa and gossip] against The Jewish People or against a portion of them. How much more so [shall I be careful to not] complain against the actions of The Holy One, Blessed is He. I shall also be careful to refrain from speaking words of lies, flattery, mockery, divisiveness, anger, haughtiness, hurtful words, embarrassment, and all forbidden words.
I shall also be careful to only speak that which is necessary for matters pertaining to my body or my soul and that all of my actions shall be [performed] for the sake of Heaven.
רִבּוֹנוֹ שֶׁל עוֹלָם, יְהִי רָצוֹן מִלְּפָנֶיךָ, אֵל רַחוּם וְחַנוּן, שֶׁתְּזַכֵּנִי הַיּוֹם וּבְכָל יוֹם לִשְׁמוֹר פִּי וּלְשׁוֹנִי
מִלָּשׁוֹן-הָרָע וּרְכִילוּת וּמִקַּבָּלָתָם.
וְאֶזָּהֵר מִלְדַבֵּר אֲפִלוּ עַל אִישׁ יְחִידִי, וְכָל שֶׁכֵּן מִלְדַבֵּר
עַל כְּלַל יִשְׂרָאֵל אוֹ עַל חֵלֶק מֵהֶם. וְכָל שֶׁכֵּן מִלְּהִתְרַעֵם
עַל מִדּוֹתָיו שֶׁל הַקָּדוֹשׁ-בָּרוּךְ-הוּא.
וְאֶזָּהֵר מִלְּדַבֵּר דִּבְרֵי שֶׁקֶר, חֲנֻפָּה, לֵצָנוּת, מַחֲלֹקֶת, כַּעַס, גַּאֲוָה, אוֹנָאַת-דְּבָרִים, הַלְבָּנַת-פָּנִים, וְכָל דְּבָרִים אֲסוּרִים.
וְזַכֵּנִי שֶׁלֹּא לְדַבֵּר כִּי-אִם דָּבָר הַצָּרִיךְ לְעִנְיָנֵי גוּפִי אוֹ נַפְשִׁי. וְשֶׁיִּהְיוּ כָּל מַעֲשַׂי לְשֵׁם שָׁמַיִם.
מִלָּשׁוֹן-הָרָע וּרְכִילוּת וּמִקַּבָּלָתָם.
